NEW TO CAT GROOMING? HERE'S WHAT TO EXPECT:
How to prepare for your kitty's spa day!
We do our best to stay on time, but as with any house call appointment, please allow a 15-30 minute window for your groomer to arrive. We will text you if we are running late! For those who require a more exact time we recommend scheduling your appointment as the first of the day.
Please allow 2-3 hours for your cat's first grooming session. It may take more time for your cat to become accustomed to the process the first time around. Subsequent grooming sessions should take between 60-90 mins depending on the temperament of the cat.
If there is any chance your cat may have fleas, please treat your pets and home before scheduling your appointment. If we enter a home containing fleas a fee will be charged to sanitize our equipment, and we will have to cancel any following appointments that day so as not to infest the next client.. Bella Mio CG does not administer flea treatments

Before the appointment
Most cats are more comfortable in smaller spaces, because of this we ask that a bathroom with a bathtub or a utility room with a deep sink is provided to complete the grooming session. Please provide a room without carpeting and ensure the litter box has been removed.
Please have two towels available for each cat. We do bring towels, but have found that your cat will be more comfortable surrounded by towels that smell familiar. Please do not provide your best towels as the cat’s fur may get caught in them.
Please remain calm and collected as your cat will pick up on your emotions and may become anxious. Have your cat contained in a small room that will not be used for the grooming session. This ensures your cat is easy to collect. If you can not locate your cat, we will assist in collection for an additional fee.
Please ensure you have completed the Client Intake form and read through/signed our Policy Agreement and Release Form. For liability purposes we are unable to complete any grooming until these forms have been completed. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.

DURING THE APPOINTMENT
During the grooming process, we ask that you allow Bella Mio CG to handle your cat. We would ask that you do not assist or hold although if your cat would like some reassurance please feel free to offer some pets. You always are free to observe but you are not required to do so.
You might hear some loud "protests" during the groom, but rest assured, we are trained to listen and know when to pause or stop a groom. We will never stress or endanger a cat just to get the groom done. Sometimes we break up a groom into several sessions if that is what the cat needs!

AFTER the Appointment
After your cat has been groomed, you will notice less hair laying around, less hairballs to clean up, and a much happier cat. Sometimes cats may shed more 1-2 days post groom as we have loosened a great deal of dead hair, however the shedding will then significantly decrease. Most cats prance around and seem much more active and playful since they FEEL better!!
If there are multiple cats in the household, and you notice they are hissing and snarling at each other post groom, it is because they SMELL different! Rub a towel all over the aggressor, making sure to rub the sides of the mouth where their scent glands are, then rub that same towel over the freshly bathed cat. Transferring the scent should eliminate any aggression very quickly!
